A protester who walked with other youths under the aegis of Coalition of Civil Society (CSOs), Osun State through his placard took a swipe at Osun State Governor, Alhaji Gboyega on Saturday, over government’s choice of infrastructural projects.
There are indications that the protester may be referring to the ongoing flyover road project in Osogbo, Osun state capital as it is the only work of such type currently going on in the state.
EyewitnessMedia gathered that the protester through his placard condemned the governor for not prioritizing local roads in in state.
He placard read, “Dear Inconclusive disguise Governor Oyetola, Osun needs local roads. Lagos needs flyover, use your common sense.”
Earlier in the day, Economic activities were paralysed in the Osogbo over the fear of possible violence that may trail the June 12 celebration.
The youths started converging around 7:30am beside the patrol vehicle of DSS, Amotekun and NSCDC with banners and placards demanding for better Nigeria and for a country that works for all.
One of the leaders of the Youths, Comrade Waheed Saka, said, “We can not ruin the economic activities of our state all in the name that some secessionist agitators want to protest. We are here today to demand a better country that works for all, we want a secure environment.”
A group, The People’s Front led by Charles Adeyemi, gathered at FOMWAN area in Iragbiji, Osun State to Mark the June 12 celebration urging Nigerians to sought after renegotiation of Nigeria unity instead of clamouring for secession. “Nigeria is better as one, if the contrary happens then the labour of our hero and nationalists is in vain.”
