Placements are a great way to gain experience and learn new skills. At Amgueddfa Cymru we offer two types of placement:

Skills Development Placements are an opportunity for people who have barriers to employment to gain transferable skills and experiences. We have worked with individuals, charities, and colleges to create placements for people with Autism, Down’s Syndrome, mental health conditions, vulnerable women, refugees, etc., in the past. We work closely with individuals to tailor a placement to their interests and needs. Skills Development Placements are often (but not limited to) one half- or full day a week for up to 6 months.

If you are interested in a Skills Development Placement, please contact the Volunteer Department here or on 029 2057 3002. Please state your interest in a Skills Development Placement and which Museum/area you would be interested in. Demand is high and we cannot guarantee a placement for everyone.

Work Placements are for people who are studying towards a qualification. Work Placements are an opportunity for individuals to gain on the job experience, explore career options and develop practical skills. These placements are often tied to a course or module.

We advertise all our Work Placements on our website. Please take a look and if you are interested, please fill out a registration form and send it to us.
